Marketing Ideas For Small Country Town To Atract Tourists.?

I live in a small attractive and interesting country town (1000 population) just outside (1 hour) a major tourist city (130,000 population) and would like to increease visitation through activities and events for the benifit of local tourist based businesses. Any ideas?

Does Any One Show Loyality To Their Country And Local Businesses?

It just interests me whether people show any patriotism to their local businesses or do we shop for the best deal and who cares whether its foreign owned and/or chain stores.
After all it is a free market isn’t it?

I am looking for new dishes to cook to sell at the local country market. We already have a selection on Pies, Quiches. Curries, Pasta dishes. What else could I make either with meat or with out. I want to produce more healthy, food so want to move away from pastry. Polite suggestions please.

I am trying to buy only domestic goods, food from local grocers and farmer’s markets, and stay away from foreign brands. I get a bagel from the local cafe rather than Dunkins, etc. What else can I do, and what else can we all do to help support our own country before supporting others?
