My new wife has decided to go to school and get a BA in business. The problem is, she doesn’t want to go to a JC for her AA, wants to do it all online. In theory it’s not a bad idea, but if she does that, it’ll mean grants/loans for school and we’re further in debt and won’t qualify for a refi because of her school loans. We both would like to go back to school, but there are financial difficulties. I’ve an AS and want a BS, but classes I took at JC back in the 80′s won’t transfer over completely and I’d like to change majors. I’ll wait for school, but she won’t. I’m currently out of work and can’t find appropriate work to pay our home loans, so that means I’ll be getting two menial jobs working 80+ hrs. and rarily seeing my new wife. Once I’ve a good job(s) and we’re on our feet, we’re gonna refi for lower payments. Selling the home isn’t an option, there’s too much invested in it and the local market has crashed for sellers. It’s more logical to keep it. What’s our options?

Is it possible advertising has gone too far?

Advertisement is a part of life. Everywhere you go there is an advertisement of some kind whether it is on the bus, on the internet, in video games and in even in schools.

Even people that are playing computer games seem to be suffering as well with more and more “in game” advertisements being seen. The first game to actually feature an “in game” advertisement was way back in 1978 and was called Adventureland. The advert in question was created by the devloper to put his next game out there.

Football games started to set a trend as with each addition of FIFA came a new set of advertisments. It would seem that games have taken a leaf out of FIFA’s book in that more and more are seeing in game advertisements. Splinter Cell even had a giant billboard advertisement that you couldn’t avoid seeing as you had to climb over it.

Something that has started to cause huge arguments is the envolvment of corportate companies advertising within schools. Is it just there to get a bit of extra business or is it slowly forcing children into buying in a specific brand for the rest of their lives?

Companies advertise in schools in a variety of ways:

  • Educational posters can actually contain adverts for candy.

  • Many school canteens have started to become subsidised by food brands in return for advertising.

  • The humble school bus has now become another medium for advertising to be served up to schoolchildren.

  • A recent and rather disturbing dystopian trend has been for actual lessons to be sponsored by a big corporation, so that in return for educational funding our children are seeing branded lesson plans, handouts and worksheets. This does not sound too different to the times of Nazi Germany in which the dictator Adolf Hitler forced people to read and write about the Nazis, does it?

The advertising industry worldwide covers mediums such as managed print services to branding. sign printing are frequently used at trade fairs and industry events as another branding opportunity.
