Do You Have A Tasty 4th Of July Treat Recipe?

On the 4th of July, me and my family are going to gather to celebrate the patriotic day and we are going to the park, to see the fireworks of course! Anyways, I have to bring something tasty for the kids, like a dessert. I want to know if any of you guys have a tasty treat that follows these guidelines:
- good for kids
- no refrigerator needed
- ingredients that can be found at local markets
- is under $20.00 [preferably less] in ingerdients
- doesn’t use weird cooking utensils

Got A Recipe For Really Muddy Mudcake?

I absolutely love this mudcake I buy at the local market, which is so rich and heavy it’s almost fudge, or a super-heavy chewy brownie. I keep trying mudcake recipes, but they all seem like wussy spongecakes next to this one.

I’m trying a new recipe it’s for a pumpkin and courgette sort of stew with basil, ginger, mushrooms, tomatoes, and pasta shells. I know that fromage fois is cheese but what kind? If my local market doesn’t have it, whats a good substitute?

Can Someone Give Me A Recipe For Sofrito? My Local Market Stopped Seeling Fresh Stuff =(?

Basic Italian soffrito (with 2 f’s) has onion, garlic, carrot and celery. Mince onion, carrot and celery and “soffriggere” (under cook or under-fry) in abundant best quality olive oil until the onion wilts, add the garlic until golden and then a splash of wine and stop cooking when the wine evaporates.
Basic Spanish sofrito has onion, garlic & bell pepper and often times some condensed tomato. Mince onion and pepper (generally green) and fry up in plenty of olive oil until wilted. Add the garlic – fry until golden and add the tomato. Stir and stop cooking when slightly reduced.
Puerto Ricans sometimes add a spoon of sweet paprika too.
Super fast made-in-a-blender Sofrito – one medium yellow or white onion, half a seeded bell pepper (best of roasted – you can find these in a jar at the super), 2 cloves garlic and some oregano. Blend and use as needed.
Below is a sofrito by Belina Cruz – I would add a cup of olive oil to all her ingredients instead of a tsp and add it last.
